Exclusive New Golf Club in Southwest Florida — What You Need to Know

The prestigious Hoffmann Family of Companies has announced plans to develop an ultra-exclusive, golf-only private club in Southwest Florida, on the site of the former Old Corkscrew Golf Club in the Estero/Naples area.

Design & Vision

Golf-course architect Kyle Phillips — known for his work on global top-100 layouts — has been tapped to bring his signature heathland-style design to the project. The design draws inspiration from English Golden Age architects such as Harry S. Colt and Tom Simpson, using the region’s sandy native terrain to craft a course of approx. 7,220 yards and par-71.

Membership & Club Features

The club, tentatively branded as the Pandion Club (named after the osprey, a bird common to Florida’s coastlines) will be members-only, with an anticipated membership cap of around 280. Key features include:

  • A dedicated clubhouse styled in low-country architecture

  • A full practice complex: teaching areas, short-game zones and putting greens

  • A design focus on “pure golf” experience, with minimal distractions and emphasis on gameplay and architecture.

Timeline & Local Impact

The early development stage has been announced, with a projected opening date in late 2027. The project is expected to enhance the appeal of premium memberships and elevate the luxury golf club offerings in Southwest Florida.

What This Means for the Region

  • For members/locals: This adds a high-end, golf-centric membership option in the Estero/Naples market—reflecting the region’s growing luxury leisure scene.

  • For real estate & lifestyle: The presence of a bespoke, architect-designed private club often enhances the potential of nearby residential development—think elevated prestige, luxury amenities, and lifestyle value. The Club is closed to Verdana Village, The Place At Corkscrew, Corkscrew Estates, and Corkscrew Shores.

  • For golf culture: With a designer of Phillips’ caliber bringing heathland style to Florida, this club signals a shift toward more nuanced, architecture-driven experiences in a market often dominated by resort-style courses.

Final Thoughts

If you’re a golf enthusiast, luxury-lifestyle seeker or real-estate investor in Southwest Florida, the upcoming Pandion Club is a project to watch. With Kyle Phillips at the helm and an exclusive membership format, this is shaping up to be a standout addition to the region’s luxury golf landscape.
