Florida’s housing market is positioned for long-lasting demand as new state population projections point to robust growth and early signs of rising home sales — trends that matter for real-estate professionals and homebuyers alike.

According to the latest forecast from Florida Realtors and the state’s Demographic Estimating Conference, Florida is expected to add an average of about 305,953 net new residents per year from April 1, 2026, through April 1, 2030 — roughly 838 new residents every day.

The housing market in the Cape Coral–Fort Myers-Naples metro area is clearly pivoting. According to the latest data from HousingWire, homes are now taking a median of 119 days to sell — significantly longer than both the national median (77 days) and Florida’s median (98 days). 

Inventory for single-family homes has climbed to 4.6 months of supply, up well above Florida’s 3.3-month average and the U.S. 2.7-month level.  At the same time, about 37% of active listings are lowering their asking prices.

Florida Hits the Fast Lane on EV Adoption — and Naples Is Plugged In

Florida has just put the pedal to the metal on the electric-vehicle revolution.
According to the Alliance for Automotive Innovation, one in ten new cars sold statewide last quarter was electric — a record 10.49% of all new light-duty sales. That milestone catapulted the Sunshine State to No. 11 nationwide and earned it the second-largest year-over-year growth in EV adoption.

In total, Floridians purchased more than 38,000 electric vehicles in Q2 2025, pushing the state’s EV count past 460,000 on the road. With around 12,000 public charging stations — roughly one for every 38 cars — the race to expand infrastructure is officially on.
